Mr. Michael Boos Executive Director, Zoological Operations & Conservation of Ocean Park Corporation and also the role of Foundation Director, Ocean Park Conservation Foundation, Hong Kong.
Michael is responsible for all animal care and welfare, conservation activities of the zoological division in Ocean Park. He leads the Division to promote animal conservation and Ocean Park as an international center for marine research, conservation and public education whilst providing entertainment in a zoological based theme park environment. As the Conservation Foundation Director he is also responsible for the conservation strategy and implementation to further conservation efforts in Asia.
Michael has over 35 years of experience working with marine and terrestrial animals, and possesses good knowledge in animal husbandry, animal rescue, animal training, aquarium, life support, education and veterinary operations. Before joining Ocean Park, he was the Vice President, Zoological Operations in Sea World Orlando/Discovery Cove/Aquatica, and before that, he was the VP, Zoological Operations in Busch Gardens Tampa. Michael has a BA degree from the Saint Leo University, Tampa, Florida, and is a Professional Fellow of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, board member for the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums and finance committee member for World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
